Time to Get PROM’D!

There are few moments in life as magical as senior prom, which is why we’re thrilled to be working with David’s Bridal to drive pre-prom season excitement. Our teen-beat nostalgia even inspired a fun twist on the fortune-telling childhood game, MASH. The creative concept was to re-invent this classic for the next generation, and today, we’re proud to announce the launch of PROM’D, a mobile web app accessible on any phone with a web browser.

Choose your Party theme and your Ride, plan the Outfit and the Music, and choose a Date to create the best prom ever!

PROM’D is integrated with Facebook and has built in capabilities for social sharing. The app has a QR code and users can access the app by texting PROMD to the short code “74362”. In addition to Facebook promotion, and a full site landing page, PROM’D will also be featured at cheerleading events and in-store at David’s Bridal. For more information, visit m.getpromd.com.

Pintegration! Night Agency is on Pinterest.

Pinterest’s popularity has soared in the past few weeks as it’s joined the list of Top Ten social networks, along with Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook. Many of our Nighters are admittedly Pinterest-obsessed, so we decided to create our own agency boards. Join in on the fun and follow us, repin us or comment on our pins!

Spotlight: Doritos Uncut has been accepted into Facebook Studio!

We’re very proud of the work we did with Doritos Uncut and we’re happy to have it featured today.

From Facebook Studio:

To increase social engagement in the Brazilian market, Doritos tasked LiveAd and Night Agency with building a Facebook presence from the ground up. To leverage the inherent sharing and storytelling behaviors within Facebook, we created Doritos Uncut, a collaborative, creative storytelling application for the Brazilian market that allowed friends to engage with each other on the Doritos Facebook Page. This allowed Doritos to not only create a ‘hangout’ for fans, but to also grow its fan base at the same time.

This innovative Facebook application invited fans to submit 140-character segments of a story, and then urge their friends to help them complete it for the chance to have their story brought to digital life by Doritos! At the end of every day, the story with the most votes was transformed into a digital storyboard and at the end of the promotion, fans voted for their favorite storyboard. The winning story was turned into an animated digital short that was entered into animation festivals (including SXSW and Kino Fest), and the winning authors received a trip to Hollywood.

Doritos promoted the campaign on nearly 20 million product packages during the two-month campaign, in addition to Facebook media and partner blogs. It also capitalized on the assumption that fans would be eager to share their stories and post notifications to their walls, driving large amounts of organic traffic to the campaign.

Campaign Performance

In less than two months, the new Doritos Facebook Page grew to over 30,000 fans. Doritos Uncut saw a total of 4,266 stories published, with 16,349 people using the application. The number of impressions from the stories alone is close to one million. This level of performance helped Doritos solidify that while this story-telling behavior was already happening, the capacity for it to grow into something bigger through a single point of engagement was a huge opportunity.

This campaign marks the first large-scale Facebook initiative by Doritos in the Brazilian market and received recognition for being a top performing campaign by Alexandre Hohagen, Vice President of Facebook in Latin America.

What’s ‘appening? The Top 11 Apps of 2011.

It’s that time of year – the “best of” roundup and countdown.

Rather than repurpose a list from TechCrunchMashable or Time (even if they are chalk-full of greatness), we decided to survey our own Nighters. Real people, using apps from trendy to practical, on a daily basis. Here’s this year’s list of our agency’s favorites for Android, iPhone and iPad. Next question… what’s the average number of apps we all have?

#1. Flipboard – The iPad app comes to iPhone.

#2. Spotify – One of the most anticipated (US) launches of the year.

#3. Alien Blue – Because we need the front page of the internet for our news.

#4. Cut The Rope – Candy. Omnomnom.

#5. Path – Share your life with the ones you love.

#6. Venmo – It’s like your phone and your wallet had a beautiful baby!

#7. Exit Strategy – Works underground, and shows you the fastest routes in and out to quickly get around town.

#8. Sonar – See who’s around you, and uncover the hidden connections you miss everyday.

#9. Welsh Corgis-Small Dog Series – Cute, adorable and fun. What’s not to love?

#10. Nyan Cat – Be prepared to lose a lot of time! This cat lost-in-space thing is addicting.

#11. iFaceFat – Because it’s fun.

11. Words with Friends – An oldie but goodie, on the rise again after Alec Baldwin’s in-flight play gave the app a popularity boost.

Contract Killer

PowerAMP

Soundhound

2011 Holiday Party…in four pictures.

Happy Holidays from your friends at Night!

A Year In Search

Japan Earthquakes. WikiLeaks. Bin Laden. Egypt. Steve Jobs. Occupy Wall Street…
It’s been an incredible year for Americans and the world.

So what was our nation searching for the most in 2011?

Apparently, we were looking for Friday.

Rebecca Black, 13-year-old singer of the pop single “Friday”, ruled Google search in 2011. When Comedy Central posted “Friday” on their blog in March, searches for the teen skyrocketed, which lead to her video being viewed more than 167 million times on YouTube. Surprisingly, more people searched for Black’s Friday than they did for pop icon Lady Gaga.

According to Google Zeitgeist, Google+, the anticipated “iPhone 5”, Casey Anthony, and Adele were also among the most searched queries of 2011. Check out Google’s video representation of the year in search.
